Dovetail Electric Aviation and SCP SINTERSA sign MoU to advance the industrialisation of aviation battery systems

July 30, 2026
The agreement establishes the framework for a strategic industrial partnership focused on the manufacture and industrialisation of advanced aerospace energy storage systems and aircraft electrification technologies.

Dovetail Electric Aviation, an Australian-Spanish aerospace technology company developing electric and hybrid-electric propulsion solutions for regional and general aviation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SCP SINTERSA, a Spanish aerospace industrial company part of the ALA Group, specialising in high-performance electrical interconnection components and systems for demanding professional applications.

The MoU establishes a framework for both companies to explore a long-term strategic industrial partnership focused on the development, industrialisation, manufacture and commercialisation of advanced aerospace energy storage systems and related aircraft electrification solutions.

The collaboration is intended to combine Dovetail’s proprietary electric aviation technology with SCP SINTERSA’s industrial expertise, manufacturing capabilities and experience in aerospace electrical systems. The initial focus will be on supporting the
industrialisation and manufacture of Dovetail’s aviation battery systems, including the transition from engineering development to certified industrial production.

Dovetail’s technology platform is built around two core products: DovePack™, its proprietary aviation battery system, and DovePower, its integrated electric propulsion system designed to support the conversion of widely used turboprop aircraft to electric and hybrid-electric propulsion. As the company advances towards first flight, certification and commercial deployment, industrial partnerships will be critical to ensuring that these technologies can be manufactured at the quality, reliability and scale
required by aviation.

SCP SINTERSA brings more than four decades of experience in the design, manufacture and integration of high-performance electrical interconnection systems and related aerospace products. Its certified manufacturing capabilities and specialised workforce have supported leading aircraft manufacturers, Tier-1 suppliers and defence programmes, making the company a strong industrial partner for the emerging electric aviation sector.

Under the MoU, Dovetail and SCP SINTERSA will explore several potential areas of collaboration, taking further the initial joint work started in 2025 and where SCP SINTERSA supported the manufacturing of Dovetail’s first aviation battery units. Beyond the existing collaboration, the companies are discussing other opportunities like contract manufacturing, supply of electrical assemblies and components, participation in RFIs, RFQs and RFPs, joint customer engagement, public funding opportunities, and even joint initiatives to access markets in other geographies. With a broader cooperation in mind around aircraft electrification and retrofit programmes, the companies are studying different joint commercial opportunities that may include potential strategic
financial alignment, subject to future discussions and the execution of definitive agreements.

Eduardo Garcia, CEO of SCP Sintersa, and David Doral, CEO and Co-Founder of Dovetail Electric Aviation

Dovetail’s CEO, David Doral, indicated that “this strategic partnership is enabling Dovetail to add to our technologies the required industrial capability to bring products to market in such a regulated and demanding environment as aerospace is. Having SCP SINTERSA as our companion in this journey to electrify aviation fills the gap that young companies like Dovetail tend to have, with the experience and capability that only decades of manufacturing aeronautical components can provide”.

Eduardo García, CEO of SCP SINTERSA, stated: ‘We see this collaboration with Dovetail as a unique opportunity to combine SCP SINTERSA’s industrial and aerospace manufacturing expertise with innovative technologies that are shaping the future of aviation. By working together, we can help bridge the gap between technological development and certified industrial production, accelerating the adoption of electrification solutions that will contribute to a more sustainable and efficient
aerospace industry”.

The agreement also reflects the strategic importance of Spain and Andalucía in Dovetail’s industrial roadmap. Dovetail operates through a dual-hub model across Australia and Spain and is establishing its EU future industrial base through the Net Zero
Aeronautical Hub Jerez, where the company plans to support battery testing, battery assembly and aircraft conversion operations.

With SCP SINTERSA as a strategic industrial partner, Dovetail reinforces its ability to move from prototype development towards scalable manufacturing, supporting its mission to accelerate the decarbonisation of regional aviation through electric and hybrid-electric propulsion technologies.
